We need the mercy

“We need the mercy, the consolation that comes from the Lord. All of us need it. This is our poverty but also our grandeur: to plead for the consolation of God, who in his tenderness comes to wipe the tears from our eyes (cf. Is 25:8; Rev 7:17; 21:4).” — Pope Francis

Reflection: Sometimes we talk about God loving us in spite of our faults. Looking at ourselves with mercy, we can see God loving us through our faults. What weaknesses or poverty are you struggling with now? How have (or might) you experienced God’s tenderness in your need? Who in your life is in need of your tenderness or compassion?
